Actress Elyse Knox died on February 16 in Los Angeles. She was 94.
L.A. Times obituary
In a 10+ year career, primarily at Universal and Monogram, she was a leading lady in B-budgets and serials. Although not a major star, some of her films are favorites among film fans, such as THE MUMMY'S TOMB (1942) with Lon Chaney Jr., and HIT THE ICE (1943) with Abbott & Costello. From 1946 - 1949 she starred as 'Ann Howe' in Monogram's "Joe Palooka" feature series with Leon Errol and Joe Kirkwood.
Ms. Knox appeared in three of Shemp Howard's solo Universal feature films... a bit role in the Technicolor
ARABIAN NIGHTS (1942)
, and lead roles in the Dead End Kids comedy/drama
KEEP 'EM SLUGGING (1943)
