I think Karen Carpenter has one of the most beautiful voices ever, but even though Debby Boone can sing, that song sucks ass!
Yes, she did. If shed lived, she would have had so many more hits. Would have probably adapted her 70's sound when the 80's came around.

Another fine female singer is Olivia Newton John..I had a MAJOR crush on her in Jr High and High School. Here she is with her debut single-a cover of Bob Dylan's "If Not For You"

Didnt America have a song called muskrat love also?

They did it first and that version sucked as well. A bad song is a bad song no matter who sings it and "Muskrat Love" is one lousy song!

Can't slow down... when you're hot, you're hot and when you're not, you're not. Y'all remember that 70s song?

Jerry Reed knew how to spin a story ... he also knew how to act in the "Smokey and the Bandit" movies.

The youtube icon is the first link above, while the fourth one is for images.  It's the same concept.

I'm glad you're going through so much trouble to show us the 45 to BOC's big 1981 hit.   ;D

If there's any music nut here who doesn't check out www.rateyourmusic.com, go over there right now.  It's to music what imdb is to movies.  I've found some great stuff from this stuff along with some disappointments too (really, what's the obssession with The Velvet Underground)?

Anyway, here's a link to the top 100 albums of the 70's according to actual voters on this site, who are regular people like you and me.  So what you get here is a good mix of classic rock hippies who priase the early 70's stuff along with the punk/alternative/new wave hipsters who would lead you to believe LONDON CALLING is better than your first orgasm.  Most 70's lists tend to be swayed towards one or the other, but this one has a nice balance, I think (i.e. Black Sabbath and Jethro Tull don't get snubbed all that badly, and the classic Rainbow Rising is 90 as I type this).

I tried that and I can't get it to work...not sure why. I'll try Curly4444's suggestion so I can post it for now.

Here are mine, in no particular order. I picked these based on what I listened to the most during that period. Good call Metaldams on Queen II and The Who's Live At Leeds. Curly4444, while I gave many spins to the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, it remains a soundtrack with previously released material and a compilation of artists, so I'm sticking with original material by the same artist/group for my selections:

Exile On Main Street/Rolling Stones
My Aim Is True/Elvis Costello
Band On The Run/Paul McCartney & Wings
I'm The Man/Joe Jackson
Young Americans/David Bowie
The Stranger/Billy Joel
Dreamboat Annie/Heart
Who's Next/The Who
Hotel California/The Eagles
Teaser and the Firecat/Cat Stevens

Put down the crack pipe son, it's harming your ability to think straight.

NEWS OF THE WORLD has some strong tracks on it, I love "All Dead, All Dead" and "Sheer Heart Attack," but man, the first two tracks (and we ALL know what they are), have been so over played at sporting events they have lost their charm.

QUEEN II is an amazing album and I put the side II medley in the same league with ABBEY ROAD's medley.

I should've mentioned "Spread Your Wings" because that is a great song.

I've heard "Who Needs You" since I've heard the entire album, but I honestly can't remember how it goes.  I guess it just hasn't stuck with me.
