On the 114th anniversary of Larry Fine's birth

  • As I celebrate the 114th anniversary of Larry Fine's birth today, I ask myself where has the time gone?  It seems like just yesterday, I was visiting 71 year old Larry Fine at the Motion Picture Home in Woodland Hills, California, in April 1974.  Vivid memories of that day continue to appear before me almost everyday now forty plus years later.  In the past, I've posted various images from that day.  Today I'm posting a never-before-posted photo of Larry and me - one making its mark in history as being the reference image for Drew Friedman's Larry Fine representation appearing in his 2006 collection of Old Jewish Comedians.  Attached below, respectively, are the 1974 photo and the 2006 Friedman representation.  Long live Larry Fine!

  • You're lucky you met him.

    Happy birthday, Porcupine.

  • I remember attending the 105th Birthday "Best of Larry" film festival at Moore College in Philadelphia. That was a great time.
