  • Universal is releasing the Bob Hope Classic Comedy Collection  on April 29.

    The 4-disc, 10 film set is a repackaging, similar to what Universal did with its W.C Fields and Marx Brothers sets. Amazon currently has a pre-order price of $13.98 for the Hope set.

    The set includes: "Give Me A Sailor," "Thanks For The Memory," "Never Say Die," "The Cat And The Canary," "The Ghost Breakers," "Caught In The Draft," "Nothing But The Truth," "My Favorite Blonde," "The Paleface," and "Sorrowful Jones."

    Yes, though Groucho's Copacabana and Skidoo are also out on Blu.

  • Hello Everyone, I'm glad to be here.
    I don't know if this is off topic, but I have been trying to collect the non-Stooge Columbia two-reelers. To date, as far as I know, there have been only 63 of these comedies released on various DVD's, including all 10 of Buster Keaton's comedies and all 20 of Charley Chase's. My question is, does anyone know if there are any others that have been released on DVD? A list of all of the ones that I know of is below:
    Can anyone help add to this list?
    (I know that there are many more available to be had on youtube, but I'm interested in legitimately released DVD's).

    Buster made 10 two reel comedy shorts for Columbia between 1939 and 1941. These 10 were released on DVD by Sony in 2006.

    Charley Chase
    Charley made 20 two reel comedy shorts for Columbia between 1937 and 1940. These 20 were released on DVD by Sony in 2013.
