  • the film Sing, Baby, Sing will be out on DVD next month.  In this Ted Healy feature; Ted had wanted the stooges to appear with him but Harry Cohn wouldn't let them go.  The Ritz brothers were hired instead and they became stars.  Interesting in the film Ted supposedly gives the Ritz Brothers the triple slap.

Stooges DVD News Odds and Ends for 2014

Ted had wanted the stooges to appear with him but Harry Cohn wouldn't let them go.

Interesting in the film Ted supposedly gives the Ritz Brothers the triple slap.

The Stooges story is myth.  If, IF, Healy had any plans to bring his stooges with him on that loan-out to 20th Century Fox, most likely it would have been Garner, Wolf and Hakins.

The Ritz Brothers were beginning a contract at Fox as featured musical-comedy players.  They were not hired with the intent to replace any mix of Healy stooges.

Yes, Healy gives Al, Harry and Jimmy a triple slap.
